All In A Day's Work

When I finally decided to sit down to write today I was torn between the huge messes that were building in my house, my sticky pink sick baby, and of course writing.  Then it happened Nolan fell asleep leaving me to put off the messes for later and vent my frustrations in a very public way.

Nolan has been sick for over a week.  It all started with a terrible cough on Thursday night; on Friday his cold was confirmed by the doctor.  A stuffy nose and terrible cough has been keeping Steve and I up most of last week, and then Tuesday we were thinking he was starting to get better, but that thought was conceived too early and as of yesterday Nolan now has two ear infections.

Ear infections were something that Steve and I knew that Nolan would have although we hoped he wouldn't.  It so happens that BOTH Steve and I had chronic ear infections for most of our infant and toddler years.  I had them so bad that by the age of two I was almost deaf until tubes were put in.  I hope tubes won't be in Nolan's future.  I shiver at the thought of him going into any kind of surgery especially at such a young age.

So, for now he is taking a very pink bubble gum flavored Amoxicillin orally, and to numb the painful ear ache he gets three drops in each ear of a sticky substance.  So, he is sticky, stained pink, and smells of bubble gum...there are worse things in life I guess.  I will be covering everything with rags to help the sticky ear stuff from getting on good pillow cases and swings, and also keep as many things from turning Pepto Bismol pink as can be possible.  In the mean time, pray for me and Nolan.  For his health and well being and my sanity, and please no more chocolate.  I haven't been able to workout this week and the large bounty that we got for Valentine's Day has almost entirely been eaten by myself.
